Amy Winehouse will play at this years Glastonbury festival, organizer have confirmed. The singer, which has been the subject of several media reports recently, is set to play a slot on the Pyramid Stage on June 28 which will be directly before Jay-Z’s headlining slot. Speaking to the BBC Newsbeat, festival organizer Emily Eavis said she has complete confidence in Winehouse and knows she will “come and deliver.”
“This is one of the biggest sets of the summer, supporting the most anticipated artist at Glastonbury in the past 38 years.”
“I don’t know how much [speculation about her reliability] is hot air from the press and how much is reality but she is pretty reliable actually. It’s her personal life and no-one really knows the extent of what she’s up to and I don’t think it should be public knowledge.
“We all know she’s a brilliant performer and I think that’s what we should be focusing on.”
