Arctic Monkeys To Head Back Into The Studio For Third Album
July 2nd, 2008
Arctic Monkeys are gearing up to head back to the studio this month to record their third album and the follow up to 2007’s ‘Favourite Worst Nightmare‘. Speaking to BBC 6Music while attending the Glastonbury festival, guitarist Jamie Cook revealed the band would work on the new album in their hometown of Sheffield. “We are gonna get our fingers out next month,” he said. [We'll] get back in his [Alex Turner] room in Sheffield and start writing some tunes.” When pressed about the bands musical direction for the forthcoming album, Cook was unsure, “I don’t know yet, we could go any way,” he exclaimed. Cook also seemed excited to get back together with his bandmates, whom have gone off to do separate things in the past few months. “Al’s moved down to London now and we haven’t seen each other for a bit. But we all keep on meeting up… [At] the end of last year we had seen each other constantly for four years. Sleeping on a bus and waking up next to each other, it was like, ‘I do not want to see you for about… for a long time!’ But then you are kind of weirdly missing each other.”
