MGMT Reveal Sophomore Album Details

MGMT are making plans and getting ready to record their second album and follow-up to ‘Oracular Spectacular‘. The duo revealed to BBC 6Music that they plan to record their second album sometime in January for a release in summer 2009. The two also said that although they really want to start writing new material for the next album their current schedule makes it hard to find time to write. “We’ve been longing to get in the studio for a while because we got out of it recording our last album about a year ago,” said Andrew Van Wyngarden. “We’re definitely ready to start working on some new stuff. I think in January we’re gonna start recording and hopefully put an album out next summer.”
Bandmate Ben Goldwasser added “we work better when we sit down in a room and go for it, but we don’t have much time to do that right now.”
