Don’t expect Oasis to offer there music for free anytime soon or pull “a Radiohead“, as it has come to be known. Guitarist Noel Gallagher recently told the BBC that it was highly unlikely that his band would ever allow fans to name the price they wish to pay for their album, following in Radiohead’s footsteps. “That’s not our bag,” he told the BBC. “I didn’t spend a year in the most expensive studio in England, with the most expensive producer in America, and the most expensive graphic designer in London to then give it away. Fuck that.” Gallagher did complement Radiohead’s non-traditional release of their album ‘In Rainbows‘ which allowed fans to choose what they wanted to pay for it. “To be honest, to me it looked like marketing. Y’know? A great way of getting a load of marketing for free really, but good for them. That’s what they do, they’re rebels and outsiders,” he said.
Oasis forthcoming album ‘Dig Out Your Soul‘ is due out October 6th.
