Arctic Monkeys’ Go ‘Psychedelic’ On New Album

As the Arctic Monkeys enter the studio this week to begin working on their third album, we begin to get a little more details. Simian Mobile Disco’s James Ford, who produced the Monkeys last album, ‘Favourite Worst Nightmare‘, has confirmed he will be producing the follow-up. Ford also revealed to the Daily Star that although the LP was still in its very early stages it so far sounds more “psychedelic” than their first album (2006’s ‘Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not‘).

“It’s too early to say what sort of direction they’ll go in next,” he told the Daily Star.

“But they’ve got at least one tune up their sleeves that sounds massive already.”

“It’s much more psychedelic than the first album (2006’s ‘Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not‘). I wouldn’t rule out a bit of R’n'B either – the boys know their stuff.”

No word yet on when the boys will be releasing the new album.
