The Stooges, Metallica and Run-D.M.C. have all been nominated for the 2009 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. Also nominated for the hall of fame: Jeff Beck, Chic, Wanda Jackson, Little Anthony and the Imperials, War, and Bobby Womack. Unfortunately only five inductees will be accepted and those chosen will be announced in January with a induction ceremony, which is to be televised by VH1, to take place in April.

For artists to be eligible for nomination they had to have released a single or album no later than 1983.
