Prince Lawsuit Stinks Of Perfume
November 18th, 2008
Prince has found himself at the center of a lawsuit brought against him by perfume maker, Revelations.
Revelations is suing the singer for failure to help promote their fragrance, ‘3121‘, which was named after Prince‘ 2006 album.
The perfume maker filed the suit, asking for damages of $100,000 for breach of contract, at the New York State Supreme Court and also named the singer’s publisher, Universal Music Publishing Group, in the suit, reports Reuters.
The company claims they entered into an agreement with Universal Music Group in which the music publisher was guaranteed 50 percent of the net profits from sale of the fragrance in exchange for getting Prince to promote it.
Universal Music Publishing Group says the suit is “completely without merit.”
