Schneider announced his departure from the band after more than 40 years on a posting on the band’s website.

Schneider’s departure leaves co-founder Ralf Hütter as the only original member of the German electronic band.

No reason was given for why he decided to quit the band only a couple months before they were due to tour Central and South America with Radiohead this March.

As-of-now Kraftwerk is still set to support Radiohead on their forthcoming tour.
