LA’s Hard Festival Gets Shut Down By Riot Police
August 10th, 2009
The bash, which took place Saturday August 8, was set to go on all-night but was over only a few hours after it kicked off.
Shortly after Canadian duo Crystal Castles finished their set riot police came in to the venue, which took place in Inglewood, and escorted attendees out.
Police were forced to shut down the rave after declaring it a “hazard”, after several fans began jumping down the bleachers onto the floor.
Over 17,000 people were in attendance at the festival which was set to see performances by Underworld, Tiga and Rye Rye.

Festival organizers have posted a statement to fans who attended apologizing for the shut down and offering ticket refunds to all who attended.
“We were required to shut down Hard Summer at The Forum last night by the Los Angeles County Fire Department. They declared the event a “hazard” after seeing concertgoers jumping from the balcony to the floor, along with numerous other potentially dangerous activities. The Inglewood Police Department backed the decision of the Fire Department and assisted in the clearance of the venue,” reads the statement.
“We are offering refunds to all concertgoers.”
