Placebo Forced To Cancel North American Tour

Placebo have been forced to cancel their entire forthcoming North American tour after singer Brian Molko came down with a virus while on tour in Asia.

The U.S. jaunt was set to kick off September 12 in Portland.

While performing at Japan’s Summer Sonic Festival on Sunday (August 9) Molko collapsed on stage and was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed to have come down with a virus.

The singer is now in London recovering and has been advised by his doctor to take atleast six weeks to recover.

In a statement issued by the bands management the band offered their apologies to fans.

“This is pretty devastating for everyone….we’ve only ever cancelled three shows in Placebo’s 14-year history, however Brian’s health is paramount. Our sincere apologies go out to Placebo’s loyal American fans who have waited a long time to see the band. We will try and do everything to re-arrange the dates as soon as possible.”

Fans who purchased tickets can get refunds at the point of purchase.
