Damon Albarn, the man behind the virtual band The Gorillaz, is teaming up with the Horrors for a track to be featured on the new Gorillaz album.

The Horrors bassist Rhys Webb revealed the collaboration to BBC 6music, saying, “We went down to the studio and he said, ‘We’re working on the new album and we’ve not collaborated with a guitar band before and your album is one of the most exciting things I’ve heard in a long time. Would you be up for working on a track?’.”

Webb did not go into further detail as to the title of the song they collaborated on or when it would be previewed to the public.

The Gorillaz third album is slated for release early next year.
