Turn Your Band Into An Iphone App With Mobile Roadie

With less than a year since it’s launch Mobile Roadie has quickly taken the music industry by storm. The site, which allows bands to create and manage their own iPhone App for a low price, has managed to attract some big names including Black Lips, Junior Boys, and Spinal Tap.  Not only bands can create an app on Mobile Roadie, really anyone can including  labels and small businesses. Famed L.A. radio station KROQ even has their own MR (Mobile Roadie) app.

The service allows any person regardless of programing knowledge to  create their very own iPhone/iPod Touch app and place it on iTunes. With Mobile Roadie bands can create an app to further interact with fans. The service allows creators to add music, videos, tour dates, blog posts, and photos.

With recent improvements to the service bands (or anyone for that matter) can now add a store to sell their merch. To create your own app you just have to pay a $399 set up fee and $29/month for the first 1,000 installs. After 1,000 installs (fans) it will only cost you 1 cent per month per fan.

When you create an App through Mobile Roadie you can even choose the price for the app, whether you want to give it away to fans or charge for it, it’s your choice. However if you choose to charge for the app MR will take a take a 10% cut from each download and that’s aside from Apple’s 30% cut.

So if you ever wanted to create your own app here’s your change and for only pennies on the dollar of what it would cost to build this app from start to finish.
