Last.fm Heads For Terrestrial Radio
September 17th, 2009
Just when you thought terrestrial was dead comes news that may bring it back to life.
Billboard is reporting that Last.fm, the popular user-generated service that keeps track of what you and your friends listen to, is gearing up to launch a radio station.
Last.fm will launch their terrestrial radio station in four of the biggest U.S. markets which are New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and San Francisco, with more cities planed in the future (if it does well).

The station, which will launch October 5, will be “multicast on CBS’s high-definition radio channels”.
Music played on the station will be picked from Last.fm’s user-generated weekly charts.
