The Strokes’ Julian Casablancas To Release Christmas Song
November 4th, 2009
The singer just released his debut solo album, ‘Phrazes For The Young‘, yesterday (11/3) and has been writing material for the Strokes’ latest album due out sometime in the future.
Now Casablancas has announced that he has recorded a solo Christmas single.
Speaking to NME.com Casablancas said he plans to release a cover of ‘I Wish It Was Christmas Today‘ later next month.
The track, which originally appeared on ‘Saturday Night Live‘ in a skit featuring Horatio Sanz, Jimmy Fallon, Chris Kattan, and Tracy Morgan, will be released as a download and limited edition seven-inch on December 21.
“It was a fun thing to do. Everyone seems to do a Christmas song at some point, so I always said to myself I’d do that song. I now checked that off the list of things to do!,” Casablancas told NME.
