Echo And The Bunnymen Cancel North American Tour

Echo And The Bunnymen have canceled their forthcoming North American tour.

The band were due to tour the States beginning November 15 but have had to pull all their dates due to tax issues.

In a statement released by the band they blamed the Internal Revenue Service for the cancellation claiming that the IRS was making “unreasonable demands” in order for the band to tour the U.S.

“It’s with the deepest regret that Echo And The Bunnymen have had to cancel their USA November tour…This is due to unreasonable demands presented by the IRS for the band to enter the USA to tour.”

It seems the band’s gig last month in New York is to blame for the high fees the IRS is requesting. The U.S. requires foreign bands who tour the country more than once in 30 days to pay additional fees.

Echo And The Bunnymen were due to tour in support of their forthcoming album, ‘The Fountain‘, due out tomorrow (November 10).

Cancelled dates:

Atlanta, GA, Masquerade (November 15)
Washington, WA Black Cat (17)
State College, PA The State Theatre (18)
Glenside, PA Kewsick Theatre (20)
Fairfield, CT Stage One (21)
New York, NY Hammerstien Ballroom (22)
Boston, MA House Of Blues (23)
Chicago, IL Metro (25)
