The Who To Be Removed From Super Bowl Halftime Show?

Child AbuseWatch.Net are demanding that Super Bowl organizers remove The Who from performing at the NFL Super Bowl XLIV halftime show set to take place February 7.

The organization, which aims to protect children from child abuse, wants organizers to drop the band, but more specifically drop guitarist Pete Townshend.

The issue stems from Townshend’s 2003 arrest for accessing child pornography, which the musician claims was research for a project on child abuse.

Townshend was cleared on one charge of possessing indecent material but was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for five years for using his credit card to gain access to a child porn site.

Speaking to the Associated Press NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said they had no plans to drop the band.

UK police cleared him since he was doing research for a project on child abuse,” said the spokesman.
