Julian Casablancas Gives Strokes’ Album Update

The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas recently sat down with NY Mag to give fans an update on the progress of the band’s forthcoming album.

Casablancas revealed that the band have been working “night and day” writing and recording new material for the follow-up to 2006’s ‘First Impressions Of Earth‘.

The singer told that magazine that unlike past times this time “everyone is working as a group”.

“Everyone is working as a group, ‘Let’s do it! Go team!’. Which is amazing. Which is what I wanted since day one. But that’s only happening now. Literally now,” revealed the frontman.

Speaking about past squabbles with his bandmates and their relationship in general Casablancas said, “If I make it superclear why I was unhappy in the past, it might just rehash things that should have been left alone. I think we’re fulfilling the promise of what we said we were: actually being a unit that really works on everything.”

As we previously reported the band have been confirmed to play a couple festivals later this year and are rumored to headline the Coachella Music Festival in California this coming April.
