No Coachella Festival Single-Day Tickets To Be Released

If you took a look at the recently announced Coachella festival line-up and were only planning to attend one day your out of luck.

Goldenvoice, the organizers behind the annual festival, have announced that they will not be selling single-day tickets this year.

Anyone who wishes to attend the three-day bash, which is set to take place in Indio, California from April 16-18, will have to cough up $269 for a three-day pass.

Speaking to the Los Angeles Times Goldenvoice president Paul Tollett said, “I understand that every time you make a change it’s great for some people, and it’s not great for others. The other festivals around the world that have camping, you can buy only the pass. You don’t buy the single day — Bonnaroo, Glastonbury, any of the super great ones.”

Tollett also said that taking away the single-day passes will really only affect less than 20% of attendees since more than 80% of festival-goers buy multi-day passes.

Those who cant spare the $269 all at once for the passes can always purchase the layaway tickets, which are available at Coachella.com.

This year’s festival is set to see performances by Jay-Z, Muse, and the Gorillaz.

This sucks! I was going to take my son and a group of his friends for his 16th birthday but now that’s out of the question. Most kids don’t go to concerts now a days and I doubt if they will attend future events when they get older. You need to be introduced to this type of thing when you’re young and most kids go with parents at first. This is going to have a ripple effect.
