A couple days ago we told you about Jimmy Buffett‘s forthcoming free beach concert in support for the Gulf region.
As you might imagine tickets for the free event, which is also set to see performances by Sonny Landreth,Zac Brown Band, and Kenny Chesney, were gone in record time.
Several of those tickets managed to find themselves up on bay for as much as $100 prompting many Gulf Coast residents, including Alabama Gov. Bob Riley, to complain.
As a result eBay has now banned the sale of the tickets on its website as well as its second market ticket site, StubHub.
As one of our readers, Renee, commented:
Tried to get tickets this morning sold out before I could get 2 tickets! But the thing that gets me that I came home went to E bay and people were selling free tickets for so much money!I needed a break because my son and Husband are both in Iraq! But not bad enough to buy free tickets! But I do think it is so great what you are doing !But I’m still going to Gulfshores and going to LU LUS!!Have never been looking forward to it!!
Gov. Riley is currently investigating why the tickets were gone so quickly, reportsBillboard.
