The Experience Music Project is set to open an exhibition about Nirvana later next year in the band’s hometown city of Seattle.
Nirvana: Taking Punk To The Masses is set run from April 16, 2011 – April 22, 2013 and will feature the world’s most extensive exhibition of memorabilia from the grunge band.
The exhibition is set to feature “rare and unseen pieces from the band, their crews and families” including Kurt Cobain‘s paintings from high school.
Also set to be on display will be handwritten lyrics of the songs ‘Spank Thru‘ and ‘Floyd The Barber‘ as well as pieces of the first guitar the frontman ever destroyed onstage.
