As some might recall, Gayngs were due to play last year’s Austin City Limits festival but cancelled at the last moment.
The super-band were forced to cancel their performance at the festival after their tour bus disappeared in the middle of the night along with their equipment and gear.
At the time the band thought the bus had been stolen but they later found out that the bus had been ordered to immediately return back to the bus companies headquarters in Nashville.
To no ones surprise, the band sued the bus company for forcing them to cancel their ACL slot and now a jury has sided with the band, rewarding them $100,000 in compensatory and punitive damages.
According to the band’s manager, Nate Vernon, the entire incident arose over a contract dispute.
The bus company was demanding thousands of dollars more from the band than what they had agreed to. The situation “quickly got out of control when [the owner] instruct the bus driver to drive back in the middle of the night,” explained Vernon.
Earlier this week a jury agreed that C.J. Starbuses, Inc. was at fault for abandoning the band and taking their equipment, forcing them to cancel their performance.
