The Make Music Pasadena Festival took place yesterday, Saturday in Pasadena, CA.
The free one-day festival drew hundreds (by the looks of it thousands) to see performances by Saint Motel, Morning Benders, and Best Coast, amount several others.
So many fans showed up to the festival that police had to stop the Morning Benders performance until attendees cleared packed sidewalks.
Warnings by the Pasadena police continued throughout other performances but the festival continued with no further major interruptions, only delays.
One of the standout performances of the day had to be Saint Motel, the Los Angeles band drew hundreds of new and old fans to their energy packed performance.
Several festival goers I spoke to who hadn’t heard of the band prior that day said they had become new fans of the band and several scooped up some band merch.
Following Saint Motel‘s performance were the Morning Benders, who were curiously one member short.
The Morning Benders played several tracks off their latest album ‘Big Echo‘, finishing up with their hit track “Excuses“.
The band also played new track “I Wanna Be Your Man“, which they mentioned they only performed ones before, at this year’s Coachella festival.
The night also saw performances by art collective duo NewVillager, who also seemed to draw in new fans, and Best Coast who managed to bring in even more people to the already packed crowd.
Best Coast played the longest set of the night, playing a couple more tracks even after being told by festival staff to end their set.
The last band of the night, at least on the main stage, was Ra Ra Riot.
The New York band played played tracks off their latest album ‘The Orchard‘, as well as newer tracks.
Check out some pics from the festival. Unfortunately due to camera issues a lot of the early sets, including Saint Motel‘s set were not captured.
