
AOL has teamed up with Slacker Radio and have announced plans to release a subscription based music service.
The new service, which is slated to launch later this summer, will allow users to create custom radio stations, save favorite songs and stations, and read music news, album reviews, and artist bios.
The service will also allow users to skip up to six songs per hour.
For users who wish to skip an unlimited amount of tracks AOL will also offer a “Radio Plus” service which will also remove all ads and run for $3.99 a month.
An On-Demand option, dubbed “Slacker Premium”, will allow users to select tracks and albums from Slacker’s huge music catalog and will run for $9.99 a month.
AOL currently has there own radio app called AOL Radio which draws over 3 million visitors a month. The Slacker partnership will allow AOL to expand their adversing options.
