The Black Keys Finish New Album

Still riding high on their latest album, ‘Brothers‘, the Black Keys have already wrapped up recoding their follow-up album.

Speaking to Spin magazine the duo revealed that they recently wrapped up recording the follow-up to their 2010 critically acclaimed album and are set to release it later this year.

“It’s the fastest we’ve ever played. The new album doesn’t sound like Brothers. It doesn’t have that open soul feel to it. It’s way more driving and the tempos are really fast,” revealed singer/guitarist Dan Auerbach to Spin.

Recorded at Auerbach‘s Nashville studio, the duo once again teamed up with producer Danger Mouse on the as-yet-untitled album.

Among the tracks to be featured on the next album are album opener “Lonely Boy“, which Auerbach described as “pretty raw”.

Another track on the album will be “Little Black Submarine“, which the singer called “weird” and “sounds like Black Sabbath!”.
