The main stage at the Ottawa Blues Festival collapsed a couple hours ago.
Cheap Trick were in the middle of performing on stage when a huge portion of the stage collapsed, reportedly trapping several people underneath, all of who managed to escape.
Local media outlets are reporting multiple injuries, however, the Ottawa Fire Department has confirmed that no one still trapped underneath the stage.
Death Cab For Cutie were due to take the stage next and also managed to escape any injuries.
Death Cab For Cutie‘s Nick Harmer sent out several tweets about the incident including an image of the collapsed stage, which you can see above.

According to a local CBC reporter on the scene “a giant gust of wind picked up a tarp and garbage from across the field and flung it toward the audience and lifted the whole stage — where Cheap Trick had been playing — and almost like a convertible in a car, just folded it backwards in the same direction.”
A video of the collapsed stage has also appeared on Youtube. Watch below. Note: Cheap Trick and their crew escaped serious injuries.
Update: Another video of the actual collapse has surfaced. Watch below.
