Damon Albarn To Record Album In Congo

Damon Albarn is set to record a new album in the Democratic Republic Of Congo.

The Blur/Gorillaz singer will visit the African country along with a team of artists with the goal of recording a new album within a week.

The project was put together with the help of Oxfam, the non-profit international organization fighting “poverty and injustice”.

Among the artists Albarn is bringing along on the trip are Kwes, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Marc Antoine, and Jo Gunton.

The singer is also bringing a couple of producers with him to produce the new album including Dan The Automator (Franz Ferdinand), Jneiro Jarel, and XL Recordings founder Richard Russell.

No word on when the album is slated for release.
