Paul McCartney is set to headline the 2012 olympic opening ceremony.
The legendary signer will play the opening of ceremony set to take place in London, the 2012 host city.
Organizers for the event had reportedly tried for a possible Beatles reunion as the highlight of the opening ceremony but were unable to secure the reunion as Ringo Starr will be in the midst of a U.S. at the time.
As for McCartney, no details have been released as to the singer’s setlist or if there will be any special guests.
