Lady Gaga has revealed she will open the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards taking place August 28.
Gaga, who herself is up for a VMA, made the announcement yesterday (8/18) via a banner at New York’s Time Square.
The singer was on hand to for the announcement as she was at MTV studio for the television premiere of her new music video “Yoü and I“.
Gaga asked her fans to read the banner announcing her performance themselves, “I thought as usual, instead of me announcing it, I’d let the Little Monsters do it for me.”
The “2011 MTV Video Music Awards” will air live from Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on August 28.
