Damon Albarn and Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ Flea have been working on a side project band for the past couple years along with Fela Kuti drummer Tony Allen.
Although no material from the collaboration had previously emerged, the band are now set to release their debut album.
Speaking to the Irish Times, Albarn has revealed that the side project band have decided on a name for the album, ‘Rocketjuice and the Moon‘.
“Someone in Lagos did the sleeve design and that’s the name he gave it, which suits me because trying to find a name for another band is always tricky,” Albarn told the Times.
No release date was given for the album.
