The Hives have announced they have collaborated with singer Cyndi Lauper on a forthcoming Christmas track.
The song, ‘A Christmas Duel‘, will be released as a free download on November 28 and will also be made available for purchase on December 2nd.
In a post on their website, The Hives wrote: “The Hives have recorded a Christmas tune that might be out in time for the Holidays. The song is waiting to be mixed but people who have heard it are raving about the greatness of the track.
The song is a duett with Cyndi Lauper and we can hear her and Howlin´ singing their hearts out for Christmas time.”
Paul McCartney says he hopes to release a previously unreleased experimental Beatles track.
The former Beatles‘ frontman said he wants to release ‘Carnival of Light‘, a 14-minute experimental track the band recorded in 1967 for an electronic music festival but never released.
Speaking about the track during a recording session at Abbey Road studios McCartney said he told the other band members to “just wander round all of the stuff and bang it, shout, play it. It doesn’t need to make any sense.”
McCartney revealed his hopes to release the track during an interview for BBC Radio 4’s Front Row.

The singer has revealed details of a new talk show he will be hosting on the Sundance Channel.
“Spectacle: Elvis Costello With…” will begin airing December 3 and will also see appearances by Rufus Wainwright, Herbie Hancock, Norah Jones, Rosanne Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Diana Krall, John Mellencamp and former President Bill Clinton.
