Stone Temple Pilots have announced additional dates to the North American leg of their reunion tour. The band’s next live show will be in Vancouver, British Columbia on August 30 followed by an appearance at Seattle’s
Bumbershoot Festival the next day.
Stone Temple Pilots reunited earlier this year, shortly after frontman Scott Weiland split with Velvet Revolver.

Matt & Kim are set to kick off their North American tour next month on Halloween at the Danbro Brewery Warehouse in Brooklyn. The 16-date tour will also take them to Montreal, Detroit, Chicago, and Pittsburgh, PA where they will wrap things up on November 21. Joining Matt & Kim on most nights is the band Best Fwends.

October 20 will see the release of
AC/DC’s first album in over eight years. The 15-track album, ‘
Black Ice‘, will be available exclusively in
Wal-Mart and
Sam’s Club stores as well as the band’s website
ACDC.com. The first single from the new album, ‘
Rock ‘n’ Roll Train‘, will hit the airwaves August 28th. The band is expected to announce an extensive world tour in support of the new album in the coming weeks.

Unconventional ‘08 in Denver. The event is being held in conjunction with the ongoing
Democratic National Convention being held in the city. Taking place at the Manifest Hope Gallery,
Unconventional ‘08, will also see performances by
Jenny Lewis of
Rilo Kiley,
Clap Your Hands And Say Yeah,
Silversun Pickups,
Johnathan Rice and
Nada Surf among others. There will also be a “special appearance” by comedian

The Killers highly anticipated third album will be called ‘
Day And Age‘. Frontman
Brandon Flowers revealed the title to
NME over the weekend as his band was set for an appearance at the
Leed’s Festival. During their appearance the band previewed a new track, ‘
Spaceman‘, which may appear on the forthcoming album. The album is slated for release sometime in November.

Albert Hammond, Jr. is set to release his own line of men’s suits which he will co-design along with stylist
Ilaria Urbinati. The suits will at fist only be available at the soon-to-open
Confederacy store in Los Angeles which
Urbinati co-owns with actor/DJ
Danny Masterson. Speaking about the designing endeavor
Hammond, Jr. told
New York Magazine, “I want to make suits that I’m going to have for myself. They’re for the person who needs his one suit for a wedding. He’d rather get something like this than go to
Men’s Wearhouse, pay the same amount, and look like an out-of-date parent.”
Hammond told NME that the suits will be available in three styles with a new design every season and that he’s aiming to keep the line classic.

The Rapture have lined up a few North American DJ dates set to kick off later this week. Band members Vito Roccoforte, Gabriel Andruzzi, and Mattie Safer are set for various DJ sets in the US, Canada and Mexico. The first DJ set is taking place this Wednesday, August 27, in Toronto, Ontario and will feature band members Mattie Safer and Gabriel Andruzzi. That will followed by a date in Los Angles on August 28 and Mexico City on August 29.

The Decemberists are set to release a singles series later this fall. The three volume series, entitled ‘
Always The Bridesmaid: A Singles Series‘, will get its first volume release October 14. All three volumes will be made available both digitally and on 12″ vinyl with Volume I compromising of tracks ‘
Valerie Plame’ and ‘
O New England’. November 14th will see the release of
Volume II followed by the release of

As they kicked off their US tour this past weekend
Cold War Kids announced the addition of new dates in California. The band, who are set to release their sophomore album ‘
Loyalty to Loyalty‘ on September 23, will now play the
Music Box at the
Henry Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles on September 24 and the

The
Arctic Monkeys are teaming up with
Queens Of The Stone Age frontman
Josh Homme. Speaking to
NME Homme said he is set to enter the studio next month with the
Arctic Monkeys to produce songs for them. The
Arctic Monkeys will be heading over to
Joshua Tree,
California to record the new material with
Homme.
Homme told
NME he was unsure if the collaboration would be released as an album or single and that it was in the early stages. “They want to submerge themselves in a place that’s the opposite of where they’re from and what they’re used to. I think we’re just going to start by doing a couple of tracks. No pressure. The goal is to make something that they dig so much that everyone else can too,”
Homme told NME.

Death Cab For Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard is teaming up with guitarist/producer Chris Walla and are headed for the Democratic National Convention in Denver next week. The duo is headed for the DNC for a private acoustic performance taking place August 26. The performance will not be for Democratic nominee Barack Obama but rather for a private educational event called “Concert for a Cooler Planet” presented by the League of Conservation Voters.

Which artists doesn’t have a sideproject these days? Weezer’s Brian Bell sure does and his about to debut it. Bell’s band, The Relationship, is set to perform their first formal show this Saturday (August 23) in Los Angeles. The Relationship have also lined-up three dates in San Jose, Los Angeles and San Diego opening up for Weezer, meaning Bell will be pulling double duty.

Manic Street Preachers are getting ready to enter the studio and begin work on their ninth studio album. The band revealed their recording plans on their
Manic Street Preachers blog. Bassist
Nicky Wire wrote that he and the band were ready to enter the studio next month and work on the follow-up to 2007’s ‘
Send Away The Tigers‘.
“End of September, we’re hoping to start a new record,” Wire wrote. “I can’t really talk about it at the moment, but as far as we’re concerned, it’s booked and we’re going in to start recording properly around then.”
