The Arctic Monkeys‘ Matt Helders is set to release the ‘Late Night Tales‘ series October 13. The compilation album features tracks that have inspired the drummer, including songs by: Roots, Manuva, The Stooges, The Black Keys, Mos Def, The Rapture and many more.
The album also includes a special spoken word piece written and read by Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner, entitled ‘A Choice of Three‘.
Helders‘ has released the first single from the forthcoming album which sees him cover 90’s dance song ‘Dreamer‘ by Living Joy. Featured on the b-side is Alex Turner’s ‘A Choice of Three‘ spoken word piece.
Paul McCartney, Madonna and Duran Duran are set to have their ‘James Bond‘ theme songs featured on the forthcoming ‘The Best Of Bond…James Bond‘. The CD/DVD package, which is due out October 28, will include 23 theme songs from the film’s history which spans over 46 years. Theme songs by Tina Turner, Louis Armstrong, Sheryl Crow, Garbage and a previously unreleased version of the main Bond theme by John Arnold will also be featured. Also included in collection will be five music videos and live concert footage.
Not included in the forthcoming ‘Best Of Bond‘ theme collection is the new Jack White/Alicia Keys theme song for the forthcoming Bond film, ‘Quantum Of Solace‘.
Coldplay have unveiled the tracklisting for their forthcoming eight-song EP. ‘Prospekts March‘, which is set for release later this year, will feature new tracks from the band’s ‘Viva la Vida‘ sessions. Also on the forthcoming EP will be their song ‘Lost!‘, which will get a digital-only EP of its own on November 10.
The Killers have announced the tracklisting for their forthcoming fourth studio album, ‘Day And Age‘. The ten-track album is set to be released November 24 in the UK and the following day worldwide. Among the tracks on the new album are ‘Spaceman‘, ‘Neon Tiger‘ and ‘Joyride‘. The album’s first single is ‘Human‘ is now available to download.
Belle And Sebastian have managed to dig through their BBC Radio archives and pull out some of their best sessions where they played some of their biggest hits and rarities. The collection, properly titled ‘The BBC Sessions‘, spans from 1996-2001 and is due out via Matador records November 18. The disc will be accompanied by a second disc containing tracks performed by the band from a December 21, 2001 recording of a Belfast Christmas show. [via Pitchfork]
The Rapture are set to release their first-ever mix album later next month. ‘Tapes‘, which features a selection of song from the 70’s to the present day with several of them based on a ‘New York underground’ theme, is due to hit store shelves in Europe October 20 with a US release November 18 via !K7. The 22-track compilation album has a vast variety of artists spanning several years including the likes of Ghosface Killah, The Bar-Kays and Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter.
Smashing Pumpkins have announced details of a forthcoming live concert DVD . The release marks the first time the band make available a live concert film. ‘If All Goes Wrong‘ is set to hit store shelves as a double DVD on November 11th in the US and will contain footage from the band’s eleven night residency at the Filmore Auditorium in San Francisco in July and August 2007. The DVD will also include a 105-minute documentary directed by Jack Gulick and Daniel E Cutallo III that chronicles the band’s reunion as well as interviews with band members and fans. Also included on Disc 1 is a featurette about the band’s fans titled ‘Voices Of The Ghost Children‘ and an interview with The Who’s guitarist Pete Townshend.
The ’set list’ for the forthcoming ‘Guitar Hero World Tour‘ has been revealed. The 86 track set list will include songs by Interpol, Black Motorcycle Club, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Dinosaur Jr., and Modest Mouse. ‘Guitar Hero World Tour‘ is set to hit store shelves October 26.
Details have emerged about The Raveonettes four forthcoming digital EPs set for release within the next three months. The first EP was released yesterday (September 8th) and features three remixed tracks from their recent album ‘Lust Lust Lust‘. The EP is available as a free download via Vice Records. The second EP will be released on October 21 to be followed by the third EP on November 25 which will feature Christmas songs. A release date has as-of-yet not been announced for the fourth and final EP.
