arctic monkeysWith their North American tour set to kick off tomorrow, the Arctic Monkeys have revealed plans to begin work on a new album following the jaunt.

The band recently dropped by NME Radio and  announced plans to begin work on the follow-up to 2009’s ‘Humbug‘ later this year.

“We’ve said we’ll stop touring this album and we’re eager to start working on new stuff again, not have time off again,” revealed drummer Matt Helders.

Frontman Alex Turner also revealed that he has already begun writing possible material for the new album.

“There’s a few things we’ve been playing around together and we’ve spoke about how we might go about it,” said Turner.

Asked as to whether they would be bringing in Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme to produced the album (or a few tracks on it), like he did for several track on ‘Humbug‘, Helders said, “It’s hard to say, both parties are up for it but they have a lot going on around the time we’d need to be recording.”

The boys are set to kick off their North American tour tomorrow night in Miami Beach, FL.

Arctic Monkeys have announced the addition of a Las Vegas show to their forthcoming North American tour.

The band will play Sin City on April 16 at the House of Blues.

Tickets for the Vegas show go on sale Saturday, February 20.

Alex Turner and co. are set to kick off their U.S. tour on April 1st in Miami.

Supporting the band on all dates will be Sleepy Sun.

Arctic Monkeys are heading back to the States for a forthcoming U.S. tour.

The band are set to kick off the jaunt on April 1 in Miami Beach, FL.

Among the dates announced are shows in Baltimore, St. Louis, and Tulsa.

Supporting the band on all dates will be Sleepy Sun.

Tickets go on sale Friday, February 12.

Alex Turner and co. are set to release the latest single, “My Propeller“, off the band’s third studio album on March 22.

Alex Turner and co. will play dates in Italy, France, Spain, and Germany.

The band are set to embark on the jaunt on January 26 in Italy.

The band continue to play in support of their latest album, ‘Humbug‘.

Alex Turner and co. will play the chat show on Friday November 13.

The band will be performing their forthcoming single, ‘Cornerstone‘, off their latest album, ‘Humbug‘.

Arctic Monkeys have added an additional stop to their forthcoming December tour of North America.

Alex Turner and Co. are now set to perform a second night at New York’s Terminal 5.

The new date will take place Thursday, December 10 with a previously announced show taking place the following night.

Tickets for the N.Y. show go on sale this Friday (October 30) at 10am EST.

Arctic Monkeys have premiered the music video for “Cornerstone“.

The track is the second single off the band’s recently released third studio album, ‘Humbug‘.

The music video features frontman Alex Turner performing the track in front of a white wall with a tape recorder and mic in hand.

Humbug‘ is out now via Domino.

Arctic Monkeys are set to bring their latest album, ‘Humbug‘, to the Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson.

The band are set to perform on the late night talk show on Wednesday, September 23.

Alex Turner and Co. are currently in the midst of a North American tour in support of their latest release.

The Late Late Show airs on CBS at 12:35am (ET/PT).

In case you missed it, the Arctic Monkeys previewed five tracks off their new album at a live web transmission via their website yesterday (July 30).

The band played tracks ‘Pretty Visitors‘, ‘Crying Lightning‘, ‘Potion Approaching‘, ‘Red Right Hand‘ (Nick Cave cover) and finisher, ‘Secret Door‘.

All tracks, except for ‘Red Right Hand‘ which will be a Japanese bonus track, are off the band’s forthcoming album, ‘Humbug‘, due out August 25.

The live webcast, which was directed by Jose Luis Divano, lasted about thirty-mitues and saw the band play infront of lit up blue screens.

In other news, Alex Turner and co. are set to kick off their North American tour tomorrow (August 1) with a performance at New Jersey’s All Points West Festival.

The Arctic Monkeys are set to take part in a Web Transmission on Thursday, July 30 at 9pm.
The Web Transmission is reportedly a half-hour concert where the band are expected to preview material from their forthcoming third album, ‘Humbug‘.

There is as-of-yet no official confirmation as to what the Web Transmission actually is but we are looking into it.

In the meantime the band have posted a teaser video for the upcoming event at webtransmission.arcticmonkeys.com.
