Arcade Fire have announced the addition of a second Madison Square Garden performance.
The band had previously announced plans to play the wold famous venue on August 4th but are now also set to play the following day (August 5).
Pre-sale tickets for the August 5th performance go on sale Wednesday, June 23.
Tickets for the general public go on sale at 9 a.m. EST Saturday, June 26.
SPOON is set to support on both dates.

Arcade Fire recently played a private show at the Notman House in Montreal where they previewed material from their forthcoming album, ‘The Suburbs‘.
The band reportedly played a 12-track set which featured 8 new songs.
The performance was said to be a warm-up gig for their forthcoming tour.
Among the tracks the band played were “The Suburbs” and “Month of May“.

After more than two years on hiatus from playing proper concerts (other than Obama fund-raising gigs), the
Arcade Fire have announced their first show.
The band are set to headline this year’s Oxegen Festival in Ireland set to take place July 8-11.
The headlining slot further legitimizes rumors that the band will release a new album in May or June of this year.
The band join previously announced acts including Muse and Jay-Z.

DEVO have been confirmed to play at the forthcoming 2010
Winter Olympic Games being held in Vancouver.
The band are set to play a concert as part of the Whistler Victory Ceremonies which will run from February 13-27.
The band’s performance is set to take place at the Whistler Medals Plaza on February 22 and will be televised on NBC.
The Fray and Feist are also set to play the Whistler Victory Ceremonies.

Weezer are celebrating their latest release, ‘
Raditude‘, with a free show for one very lucky college.
Weezer have teamed up with T-Mobile and are running a competition to see which college has what it takes to get the band to play their campus.
College students who want the band to play their school should sign up their college on Facebook and encourage others to vote for their school.
The college with the most votes wins!

The Dead Weather are set to play a one-off show in New York later this month.
Jack White and co. have announced plans to play Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg on November 17.
Tickets for the New York date go on sale Friday (November 13) to the general public but members of Third Man Records music subscription service, The Vault, can purchase tickets starting today at 12pm (EST).

U2’s recent show at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California was not only the band’s first show to be streamed live on
YouTube, it was the bands biggest U.S. concert ever.
The concert, which took place on October 25, broke the U.S. attendance record for best-attended single concert performance by one headliner.
Over 97,014 fans packed the sold out California venue, reports Billboard.

After less than a week since
YouTube live streamed U2’s concert in Pasadena, California we get word that
Facebook will do the same with the
Foo Fighters.
The popular social network has teamed up with the band to live stream their concert taking place tonight (October 30) at the band’s Studio 606 headquarters in Los Angeles.
Fans who will be watching the live stream can RSVP here.

The Decemberists have announced details about their forthcoming special project which they have dubbed, “
Here Come The Waves: The Hazards of Love Visualized“.
The live experience will take place October 19 at UCLA’s Royce Hall in Los Angeles and will feature animated films accompanied by live music from the band.
The animated films have been created by four filmmakers, Guilherme Marcondes, Julia Pott, Peter Sluszka and Santa Maria.
Not only are the band set to play an entire set synchronized with the animated films but they are also set to play a second set which will feature new and old material.

Last week we
told you about the
Arctic Monkeys planned
Web Transmission, we can now give you a bit more details.
As we reported, the band are infact previewing material from their forthcoming album, ‘Humbug‘, on the Web Transmission which will debut on Thursday, July 30th at 4:00pm EST.
The transmission will only be streaming for a limited time on Thursday so Arctic Monkeys fans better hurry and catch it.
