MGMT have announced plans to play two special shows at New York’s Guggenheim Museum.

The band are set to play the the shows on November 10 and 11 with the first show taking place as part of the after-party for the 2011 Guggenheim International Gala.

In a press release announcing the shows the band wrote:

“We’re creating a musical experience that works for the building, and for the construction and presentation of the Cattelan exhibition. The art exhibition is done in a completely original way, so it deserves music which is completely original. The Guggenheim performance won’t be a traditional MGMT show, but it will be ____.”

Coldplay have announced plans to play at “American Express Unstaged” on October 26.

The concert, which is taking place in Spain, is set to be live streamed on YouTube for fans who can’t make it to the event.

The band will be playing in support of their forthcoming album, ‘MYLO XYLOTO‘, which will be released a couple days prior to the Spanish concert.

Last night, the crowd gathered at the ongoing Occupy Wall Street protest got a bit of a surprise when Neutral Milk Hotel‘s Jeff Mangum performed an acoustic set.

Mangum played several songs during his set including a cover of Minutemen‘s “Themselves“.

After wrapping-up his performance the frontman said “You guys have done a beautiful fucking thing.”

The Raconteurs have announced plans to play an intimate concert in Nashville, TN.

The band, which features Jack White, will play Third Man Records on Wednesday, September 14.

The performance marks the band’s first show of the year.

A limited number of tickets have been released on Third Man Records website with a few others tickets to be sold from the Third Man Records retail shop in Nashville, TN from Tuesday Aug. 30th at 10am.

Arctic Monkeys have announced plans to play a Lollapaloooza warm-up gig in Chicago on August 6.

Playing in support of their new album ‘Suck It And See‘ the band will perform at the House of Blues.

Following the House of Blues performance the band are set to play Sunday night at the Lollapalooza festival also in Chicago.

Arctic Monkeys have confirmed plans to play the forthcoming iTunes Festival in London.

Alex Turner and co. will play the month long free festival taking place this July.

The band are set to headline on July 6 and will be joined by Miles Kane, who will open for the band.

The free annual 31-day festival sees over 62 artists play London’s The Roundhouse venue throughout July.

Among other acts set to play the bash are Beady Eye, Glasvegas, Foo Fighters, and Friendly Fires.

Peter Frampton has announced plans to embark on a world tour later next month to celebrate his live album, ‘Frampton Comes Alive!‘.

The singer-songwriter will perform the multi-platinum-selling album in full across the U.S, Canada, and Europe.

The concert, which will run for three hours, will feature highlights from Frampton‘s musical career including tracks off his latest album, ‘Thank You Mr. Churchill‘ and his 2006 instrumental album ‘Fingerprints‘.

Greenwood will play the charity event, which is in support of Care International, on October 18th at London’s Royal Albert Hall.

The musician will be joined by other special guest including Kaiser Chiefs frontmanRicky Wilson, who  is also set to take part in the event.
