Wilco have announced plans to begin recording their new album later this month.
Speaking to Billboard.com, frontman Jeff Tweedy revealed that the group will enter the studio sometime this month to begin work on the follow-up to 2009’s ‘Wilco (The Album)‘.
“We’re getting into the studio later this month to start recording the next Wilco record,” Tweedy told Billboard.
“The way we’ve been touring the past year, there’s been a dividing line between one record and the next as there ever had been because we’ve been touring so intensively and we haven’t been able to do any recording on the side. But this is usually the way we seem to work when we have downtime, we generally spend it in the studio.”
The frontman said the group was still unsure how they would release the new album since they are no longer with their label Nonesuch.
