Despite rampant rumors that the festival would not take place this year due to the down economy, organizers have announced that the event will in not only go on, but will be free.
The festival will now take place over one day, August 30 and will now take place at Baltimore’s Merriweather Post Pavilion.
Also set to play the one-day bash is The Bravery, Taking Back Sunday, Girl Talk, Public Enemy, and Mates of State.

The band are set to release ‘Can’t Stop Feeling‘ on July 6 via Domino Records.
The single will be released in both a digital version as well as a 7″ vinyl release.
The forthcoming single is set to feature the band’s version of LCD Soundsystem’s ‘All My Friends‘.
‘Tonight: Franz Ferdinand‘ was released in January 2009.

We are now learning that Franz Ferdinand is also set to support Green Day on several U.S. tour dates.
Green Day are set to kick off the U.S. leg of their jaunt on July 27 at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
Support acts have yet to be revealed for the first part of their tour.

Also added to the line-up for the three-day fest, which runs from September 5-7, are Eugene Mirman, Janelle Monae, Os Mutantes, and Keller Williams.
The new additions join previously announced acts Modest Mouse, Katy Perry, MSTRKRFT, and Sheryl Crow.
