The second annual Culture Collide Festival in Los Angeles is set to officially kick off next Thursday.

With less than a week left, Filter Magazine, the event’s organizer, has announced some kick off events set for Wednesday, October 5.

First, Nirvana fans can catch the L.A. Premiere of ‘Nirvana Live At The Paramount‘, which is set to be screened at the Vista Theatre beginning at 7:00pm.

Following the premiere, ReFORM on Sunset Blvd. will play host to The Rapture DJS with drinks courtesy of Bootlegger’s Brewery. The set kicks off at 8pm.

Those in the area can also check out the Lucie Foundation art opening which runs from 7pm – 11pm.

The FILTER Culture Collide Festival is set to take place at a series of Los Angeles’ venues including The Echo, Echoplex, Taix, 826LA, The Church, ReForm Academy, Co-op and Origami.

The festival will run from Thursday, October 6 through Sunday, October 9, concluding with the TOYOTA ANTICS Block Party, a free all-day event in Echo Park (visit uptheantics.com for more info).

Deerhoof are giving their fans a real treat, a free album.

The band have released a live album, titled ‘99% Upset Feeling‘, as a free download.

The 11-track album was recorded during the band’s recent Deerhoof Vs. Evil Tour and is available to download on the band’s website.

Best Coast are set to perform a free show at The Getty Center in Los Angeles.

The band will perform as part of the centers’ ‘Saturdays Off The 405‘ series.

The show is set to take place Saturday, July 9 and kicks off at 6pm.

The annual Make Music Pasadena festival is once again returning to Pasadena this year.

The annual festival is set to take place June 18 and will be free for all ages, that’s right free.

Among the acts taking part in this years event are Ra Ra Riot, Best Coast, and The Morning Benders.

The festival takes place in different venues throughout the city and runs all day.
