ConanJack White and Conan O’Brien are planning something awesome.

In a tweet to his followers posted yesterday (June 9), O’Brien revealed that the White Stripes frontman and himself were planning “something cool”.

Although no other details were revealed, the post led people to a video which features White putting up a poster announced the performance, which is set to take place tonight (June 10) at 8pm.

O’Brien did offer people a hint as to what is set to go down tonight, “Hint: it involves a LOT of Tears for Fears songs.”

Chances are the two will be playing a few songs together, which is awesome.

The show or performance or whatever it is, will take place at Third Man Records in Nashville and is only for people 21 and over.

Also it is on a “1st come 1st serve” basis so if your in the area you better hurry and get your a** there.

Paul McCartneyJack White, Elvis Costello, Stevie Wonder, and Dave Grohl are among the guests set to honor Sir Paul McCartney as he is awarded the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song.

McCartney is set to be presented with the award during a special concert at the White House’s East Room set to take place June 2.

Emmylou Harris, Jerry Seinfeld, and the Jonas Brothers are also set to pay tribute to the singer.

The celebration is set to air on July 28 on PBS stations as part of their “Performance at the White House” series.

Dead WeatherThe Dead Weather have been confirmed as headliners for this year’s Open’er Festival.

Jack White and co. will play the Polish bash on July 4.

The four-day festival will run from July 1 – 4 in Gdynia.

Dead Weather join previously announced acts including Pearl Jam, Klaxons, Kasabian, and Massive Attack.

Dead WeatherDead Weather have announced plans to play this year’s Montreux Jazz Festival in Montreux, Switzerland.

Jack White and co. will play the bash on July 3rd.

The annual festival is set to run from July 2-17 on the shores of Lake Geneva.

White StripesIn a recent interview with The Times, White Stripes frontman Jack White revealed his hopes to record a new White Stripes album soon.

Following a sudden cancellation of their 2007 World Tour after bandmate Meg White came down with anxiety problems, the duo have not played or toured together.

However in the interview with The Times Jack said he believes Meg has overcome her anxiety stating, “I don’t think her anxiety exists any more, but I don’t know.”

When asked if he hopes to record new material with her again Jack said, “I would like to.”

White said that although the two have stayed close they have yet to actually plan out time to record a new album.

“She ’s still involved and everything, but we’ve never sat down and gone: ‘OK, so don’t forget to block out three months…” he said.

“Although we never did that, even in the thick of the craziness of the White Stripes. I have nothing planned after this month coming up, but I know that it all will be filled up really fast,” he continued.

Dead Weather Sea of Cowards
The Dead Weather are set to release their sophomore album, ‘Sea Of Cowards‘ later next month.

One track off the new album, “Gasoline“, is currently being streamed online at Stereogum.

The Dead Weather have premiered the music video for the first single off the band’s forthcoming sophomore album.

Jack White and co. released the video for “Die By The Drop“, a track off their new album ‘Sea Of Cowards‘ due out later this year.

The music video was directed by Floria Sigismondi.

The Dead Weather have revealed the title for their forthcoming sophomore album.

The new album and follow-up to 2009’s ‘Horehound‘ will be titled ‘Sea Of Cowards‘.

Jack White and co. had originally announced the albums release date for sometime next month but according to Entertainment.ie the band have pushed back the release until May 7.

The first single off the forthcoming album, ‘Die By The Drop‘, is set for release soon, although no release date has been announced.

In a recent interview with GQ, White Stripes/Raconteurs/Dead Weather frontman Jack White revealed he recently teamed up with Jay-Z to record a new track.

White reveled the collaboration saying, “I just did a record with Jay-Z … We did a song together a few weeks ago. It was incredible. I played him something that I’ve been kicking around for a while and he immediately came out with words for it. It’s unbelievable sounding.”

White gave no other details on when or where the track would be released.

Third Man Records, Jack White’s label, have announced plans to open a pop-up shop at the weeklong SXSW festival taking place later this month.

The pop-up shops, which have appeared for a temporary time in Los Angeles, New York, and London, will make their way to Austin, Texas for only 4 days.

The temporary shop will open at the South By Southwest Music Conference from March 17th through March 20th and will be located at Frank Restaurant on 4th and Colorado.

The shop is set to feature exclusive Third Man vinyl, debut releases, food, drinks, and much more.

The pop-up shop will also offer several screenings of The White Stripes’ film ‘Under Great White Northern Lights‘ and will also sell complete Box Sets of film as well as the stand-alone components of the box set.
