The Flaming Lips have announced plans to release a compilation album featuring all their collaborations as their contribution for next year’s Record Store Day.

Speaking to Billboard, frontman Wayne Coyne said the band would release the album full of collaborations they’ve done including collaborations with Neon Indian, Lightning Bolt, and planned collaborations with Nick Cave, Death Cab For Cutie, and many more.

The band are also hopping for more collaborations to include as part of the special release.

The Walkmen have picked out the tracks set to feature on the band’s forthcoming new album.

In a Twitter update to fans, the band revealed that they had selected 15 tracks from their recording sessions with producer Phil Ek.

The band wrote, “Had a great week working w/ masterful producer Phil Ek. 15 songs survived his battle axe. we’ll be testing them live all september. see ya.”

The band are slated to release the follow-up to ‘Lisbon‘, later this year or early next.

Snow Patrol are set to release the first single off their forthcoming as-yet-untitled album this September.

The single, titled “Called Out In The Dark“, is set for release on September 4 (UK).

The track is off the band’s sixth studio album and follow-up to 2008′s ‘A Hundred Million Suns‘, which is due for release later this year.

The band teamed up with producer Jacknife Lee for the new album, which they’ve been recording in Los Angeles.

Toro Y Moi has announced details of a new forthcoming EP due out later this year.

Chaz Bundicks will release his latest EP, ‘Freaking Out‘, on September 13 via Carpark Records.

Among the tracks featured on the forthcoming EP will be “Saturday Love“, which has been released as a free download.

Bright Eyes have partnered with HMV and have announced plans to release a live EP early next month.

The band will release the ‘Live Recordings‘ EP on July 4 along-side the release of the second single off their new album ‘The People’s Key‘.

The EP will be released exclusively through HMV, the UK retail chain, and will be limited to only 1,000 digipack CDs.

The release will feature 6 tracks recorded on the band’s current tour.
