Elvis Costello recently stopped by Sesame Street.

The musician made a guest appearance on the popular kids show performing tracks “Monster Went And Ate My Red 2” (a friendlier take on “The Angels Wanna Wear My Red Shoes“).

MGMT have announced plans to play two special shows at New York’s Guggenheim Museum.

The band are set to play the the shows on November 10 and 11 with the first show taking place as part of the after-party for the 2011 Guggenheim International Gala.

In a press release announcing the shows the band wrote:

“We’re creating a musical experience that works for the building, and for the construction and presentation of the Cattelan exhibition. The art exhibition is done in a completely original way, so it deserves music which is completely original. The Guggenheim performance won’t be a traditional MGMT show, but it will be ____.”

Peter Bjorn and John are set to be the musical guest on tonight’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!

The band will perform in support of their new album, ‘Gimme Some‘, and will play new single “Dig A Little Deeper” as well as “Second Chances“.

Jimmy Kimmmel Live! airs on ABC.

Last night, the crowd gathered at the ongoing Occupy Wall Street protest got a bit of a surprise when Neutral Milk Hotel‘s Jeff Mangum performed an acoustic set.

Mangum played several songs during his set including a cover of Minutemen‘s “Themselves“.

After wrapping-up his performance the frontman said “You guys have done a beautiful fucking thing.”

My Morning Jacket recently played an intimate show at the Village Studio in Los Angeles’ for NPR radio station KCRW.

The band performed their new album, ‘Circuital‘, in its entirety during the concert.

Now NPR has posted the entire performance, which includes some classic tracks, online for all to watch.

Saint Motel played the Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa last night (7/6).

The show was part of the band’s Summer Sweat tour with The Silent Comedy.

Last night’s show started with an opening performance by local band The New Limb.

The band’s set was followed by an energy filled performance by San Diego band The Silent Comedy.

The Silent Comedy kicked off their set with their track “Break It”, previewing several new tracks throughout their set and wrapping things up with a performance of “Exploit”.

Closing the night was Saint Motel, who opened with their hit track “Do Everything Now”.

The band played several popular tracks for the packed crowd, bringing their set to a close with a performance of “Stories”.

The Raconteurs are set to play their first show in over two years.

The band, headed up by Jack White, have been announced as headliners for the inaugural MI Fest in Brooklyn, Michigan.

The bash takes place September 17 at the Michigan International Speedway and will be co-headlined by Sheryl Crow.

The headlining performance is the bands only live date this year with no plans to embark on a proper tour.

Arctic Monkeys have announced plans to play a Lollapaloooza warm-up gig in Chicago on August 6.

Playing in support of their new album ‘Suck It And See‘ the band will perform at the House of Blues.

Following the House of Blues performance the band are set to play Sunday night at the Lollapalooza festival also in Chicago.

Comedy Central has announced plans to webcast comedy acts from this year’s forthcoming Bonnaroo festival.

The cable networked announced that they will broadcast a three-hour show recorded live at Bonnaroo’s Comedy Tent.

The streaming webcast will air on June 12 on Comedycentral.com and will feature a handful of performances from comedians who took part in the four day festival.

Among the comedians set to take part in the festival are Lewis Black, Cheech Marin, John Waters, and Donald Glover.

This year’s Bonnaroo Festival is set to take place June 9-12 in Manchester, TN.

Arctic Monkeys stopped by ‘The Late Show with David Letterman‘ yesterday (May 26) to play a track off their forthcoming album, ‘Suck It And See‘.

The band played the first single off the new album, “Don’t Sit Down ‘Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair“, on the late night show.
